Jordan provided construction and consulting services for the rebuilding of New York City’s Office of Emergency Management. OEM was destroyed on September 11, 2001 and was relocated in 2006 to downtown Brooklyn next to the Federal Courthouse at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge. This renovation project’s goal was to bring a new environmentally friendly design to New York. Jordan worked with Swanke Hayden Connell Architects to overcome design challenges faced with the zinc material and other new-age environmentally safe construction materials. Jordan also complied to strict security measures throughout the entire course of work with this high-profile command center.

OEM qualified for Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification and is New York City’s first “green” agency headquarters. McGraw-Hill Construction awarded the New York City Office of Emergency Management the Award of Merit: Adaptive Reuse in 2006. Jordan Panel was able to display their expertise in this unique design and is proud to contribute to the fight against terrorism.
