| As one of the first major curtain wall ventures of this kind, Jordan took extra care in designing and engineering a system that incorporates allucobond aluminum panels into an entire glass facade. This innovative design was nothing more than conceptual when introduced to Jordan by Cannon Design Architects in 2004. The Stony Brook ACP project was a full size prototype for the new Major Modification project at Stony Brook Hospital (also JPS). The aluminum rainscreen design is lightweight and gives high architectural appeal. Many shapes, sizes and cuts were derived from this rainscreen system to create an architectural masterpiece. Stony Brook University ACP functions as a breast cancer imaging center and a leading oncology research center. |
